Summit – May 19

Update via satellite text message:

Greetings from Camp 4 after a successful summit of Mt. Everest!

I reached the summit in the early morning of May 19 after waiting out storms for nearly a week at Camp 2.  It’s been a big adventure!  I will be able to share details and pictures from up high on the mountain once I return to Base Camp.

There is still a lot of climbing ahead to make it all official, however.  Over the next few days I will focus on climbing down the Lhotse Face and then completing one more trip through the Khumbu Icefall to Everest Base Camp.

Thanks for everyone’s support and prayers.

The summit experience was everything I had hoped for and more.
